Listing Optimizer — guide

Listing Optimizer — guide

Rewrites a live Amazon listing — title, Item Highlights, bullets, description, and backend search terms — using the listing's real data plus live competitor and keyword research.

Step by step

  1. Open Tools → Optimize existing listings → Listing Optimizer and sign in.
  2. Enter the ASIN (the 10-character product ID from the listing URL or the product page's Product Information section).
  3. Pick the Amazon marketplace — 13 supported, from amazon.com to amazon.com.au. Listing data, competitor research, and keyword volumes all come from the marketplace you pick. (Keyword volumes aren't available for amazon.co.jp — keywords are still chosen and shown, volumes read as unknown.)
  4. Pick the output language. "Marketplace default" writes the copy in that marketplace's primary language; pick any other supported language — English (US/UK/CA), Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Japanese, Chinese, or Arabic — to generate listing translations, e.g. Polish copy for amazon.de or Arabic for amazon.ae.
  5. Optionally add target keywords (comma-separated). Leave blank and the optimizer picks the search terms itself — you'll still see them, with monthly search volumes, on the results page.
  6. Pick the title length (default 75 — Amazon's cap from Jul 27, 2026; longer options are for media categories only), bullet length (250 or 500 target characters), and backend keywords budget (250 or 500 bytes — the marketplace's own cap applies automatically: amazon.in indexes only 200 bytes, and 500 only takes effect on amazon.co.jp).
  7. Click run. The cost in credits is shown on the button; results usually take under a minute. If a run fails, your credits are refunded automatically.

What happens during a run

We fetch your live listing (title, bullets, description, brand, price, rating) from the selected marketplace, pull its top competitor listings for your primary keyword — excluding your own brand's products — and look up monthly search volumes. The rewrite is then machine-checked against Amazon's content rules and corrected before you see it.

The output, field by field

  • Title: at most your selected length, brand first (taken exactly from your listing — never invented), audience qualifier right after the brand when relevant, no word repeated more than twice, no banned characters, percentages, care instructions, or promo text.
  • Item Highlights: Amazon's new field — up to 125 searchable characters shown under the title, written as labeled phrases (Materials / Use / For…). Paste it in Seller Central via Edit listing → View enhancements; Amazon accepts it only once your title is 75 characters or fewer.
  • Bullets: five benefit-led bullets, each opening with a short Sentence-case lead-in and a colon.
  • Description: 1,000–1,500 characters of persuasive copy.
  • Backend keywords: lowercase, space-separated, every word unique, no words already in the title, within your marketplace's byte budget (under 250 bytes on most marketplaces; amazon.in indexes only 200, amazon.co.jp allows up to 500) — exactly what Amazon's search-terms field expects.

Reading the results page

  • A snapshot strip shows the listing as it looked at run time: ASIN (linked to the listing on the marketplace you ran against), price, star rating, and review count.
  • The listing score card scores your optimized copy — and your current listing, where its content is public — 0–100 with an expandable per-check breakdown (see The listing score below).
  • Keywords in your optimized copy lists every keyword that made it into the copy with its monthly search volume and where it appears; phrases the research surfaced but the copy didn't use sit under Additional researched keywords as opportunities. The card also shows how much additional indexed search volume your backend keywords unlock.
  • A sticky action bar keeps Push to Amazon and Download sheet (.xlsx) in reach while you review; every field also has its own Copy button (each bullet individually).
  • Each optimized bullet shows the original it replaces right underneath, and the description has a collapsible comparison with your current text. The competitor listings analyzed (up to 12) are collapsible below.
  • Your run history (Runs in the app) lists every past run with its product, ASIN, and marketplace, so you can tell parallel-market runs apart.

The listing score

Every run shows a deterministic 0–100 score for the optimized copy, next to a score for your current listing where its content is public. It checks structure — title, bullet, description, and Item Highlights length bands, backend byte usage, restricted symbols — and keyword coverage: top keywords in the title, keywords indexed for search (including backend), and keywords in visible copy. Fields that can't be known — your current listing's backend keywords, or a description built entirely from A+ images — are excluded from that side's score rather than counted against it. It measures listing structure and field utilization, not sales or rankings: an honest baseline you can act on.

Push to Amazon

Connect your Amazon Seller account once (Connections in the app) and succeeded optimizer runs gain a Push to Amazon panel. Vendara finds the seller SKU behind the run's ASIN (you pick if there are several), and on your approval publishes the title, bullets, description, and backend search terms to your live listing through the Amazon Selling Partner API, in the run's output language. Amazon's validation response lands on the run page — including any issues, verbatim. Item Highlights stay copy-paste for now: Amazon doesn't expose an API field for them. Nothing is ever pushed without you pressing the button.

The free Catalog Analyzer

Not sure which listings need optimizing? Connect your Seller account and the Catalog Analyzer scores your whole catalog — up to 5,000 SKUs, backend search terms included — with the same listing score, free, and ranks it worst-first with an Optimize link on every row.
